We got an invitation from my niece Natalia. Perhaps I am not very objective but I think this is one of the most beautiful invitations I have ever got.

on the ferry

Sketch taken on the way back from cycle trip to Isle of Arran. A group of Spanish tourists fell asleep and I felt like falling asleep too (after a 62 kilometers cycle) but forced myself to make this sketch as these guys looked just lovely. There was a kitch sunset behind the ferry window that I couldn't capture as I don't usually carry pink and orange pencils when I go for a cycle trip.

Szkic zrobiony w drodze powrotnej promem z wyspy Arran. Na siedzeniach przed nami grupa młodych hiszpańskich turystów uroczo sobie zasnęła. Też bym chętnie zasnęła bo 62 kilometry na rowerze robią swoje, jednak zmusiłam się i zrobiłam ten szkic, bo oni wyglądali cudownie. W tle był też widoczny wspaniale kiczowaty nadmorski zachód słońca, którego niestety nie udało mi się uchwycic z powodu braku różowej i pomarańczowej kredki, których zazwyczaj na wyprawy rowerowe nie zabieram.

a good advice for illustartors!

If you are an illustrator never ever go mountain cycling without a front suspension on your bike!! Unless you want to quit your profession or develop a special zigzag drawing style... My hands are not working the way they are supposed to work after our today's trip to glentress forest (downhill was the worst) and I am a bit worried about my illustrations now. Anyway, the trip was wonderful.

Once there was a cottontail. One day the cottontail met another cottontail and it was not long after when they had a little baby-cottontail. And you must know that "(...) [from The Living world of Audubon. Mammals]. I am a bit worried to be honest...

Był sobie królik bawełniano-ogonowy. Pewnego razu spotkał drugiego królika bawełniano-ogonowego i tak się złożyło, że w bardzo krótkim czasie na świecie pojawił się kolejny bawełniano-ogonowy królik - mały króliczek. A trzeba Wam wiedziec, że z pary królików bawełniano-ogonowych i ich potomków (przy założeniu, że nie zagrażają im żadne wypadki, choroby i drapieżnicy) w ciągu pięciu lat możnaby uzyskać trzysta pięćdziesiąt tysięcy królików bawełniano-ogonowych. Trochę mnie to martwi, bo nie wiem czy pomieścimy...

bologna by night

off to bologna!!!

Looking forward to good italian style coffee (capuccino I had two years ago at Aeroporto Galileo Galilei in Pisa was the best I've ever had. I am going to check if it is still that good), spaghetti bolognese and some good children's book illustration. For some strange reasons I packed plenty of autopromotional stuff too. For the same strange reasons I spent all weekend printing, cutting, sticking together, updating. Why don't we just spend our weekend as normal people sitting on the sofa, watching TV, dog sleeping at our feet? Relaxing weekend. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact we don't have a TV and we don't have a dog either...

Jadę do Bolonii!!! a tam będzie dobra kawa poranna i całkiem dużo całkiem niezłej ilustracji dla dzieci. Cały łikend drukowałam, wycinałam i zlepiałam różne autopromocyjne gadżety. Gdzieś w okolicach niedzieli wieczorem miałam taką piękną wizję, że spędzamy ten łikend siedząc na sofie, oglądając telewizję, a pies leży na podłodze i też ogląda...Wyobrażam sobie, że tak spędzają łikend normalni ludzie. Problem jest taki, że nie mamy ani telewizora, ani psa. I pytanie brzmi, czy jak kupimy telewizor i psa, to czy przypadkiem nie będziemy dalej drukować, sklejać, updatować i projektować?
